Recently, Tamil actor Jayam Ravi addressed murmurs doing the rounds about his personal life, after announcing his separation from wife Aarti earlier this month. The actor posted on X (the rebranded Twitter) that he was separated from Aarti of 18 years. “I am separated from my dear 18-year-old wife Aarti,” Jayam Ravi posted and news created an immediate storm, as Aarti responded, stating she was not informed or consulted before announcing their separation.
Jayam Ravi, who has been at the center of speculation about a romance with singer Kenishaa Francis, says the media and fans need to respect his privacy as much as that of Kenishaa’s at a press event in Chennai for his film Brother. “Live and let live. Don’t involve anyone in this. Let personal life be personal,” Ravi said. Of course he did. He really stressed out on Kenishaa’s feats, about how she is a self-made woman who has done over 600 stage shows, and is still a healer and licensed psychologist,
Ravi also confirmed that they are to build a healing center soon to cater to the lot of needy, “Please don’t spoil it. Nobody can spoil it too. Don’t involve her unnecessarily,” he said shooting all the rumors off in a jiffy about any romance being involved with Kenishaa.The rumors cropped up after some of the Tamil magazines reported that Ravi and Kenishaa were allegedly spotted frequenting each other in Goa, though the actor rubbished off these claims as baseless.

Ravi explained that the decision to divorce was not made overnight, but it was based on very careful consideration and discussions. “After much thought, reflections and discussions, I have taken the decision to move ahead with the dissolution of marriage with Aarti. This decision emanates from personal reasons that I feel are in the interest of everyone involved,” he wrote.
He further urged his fans to stop making baseless guesses and allow his family to have some space at this hour. “I respectfully request all of you to respect our privacy as well as that of our family members during this difficult time,” Ravi added, asking people not to make any guesswork or spread some stories about the incident.
She was shocked herself
Said Aarti Ravi from the side of the wife, adding that she and her husband were “blindsided” by the ex-husband’s decision. She said in a lengthy Instagram post, “I am shocked and saddened by the recent public announcement regarding our marriage, which was made without my knowledge or consent. After 18 years of shared history, I do believe that such a big matter should be handled with grace, respect, and the privacy that it deserves.
