In-Flight Medical Emergency and Response

A small jet on an approach into Martha’s Vineyard Airport in Massachusetts met a similar fate weeks ago. The Washington Post is reporting that the emergency occurred on the final approach into the field when the pilot, 79-year-old male – no name was released, and ultimately crash-landed outside of the runway, snapping the left wing on the aircraft in half upon impact. The pilot was rushed to a Boston hospital in critical condition, while the female passenger who took over the controls emerged unscathed and has been released from a local hospital.
