Israel has prepared a military response to Iran’s recent missile attack, wherein around 200 missiles were launched. This is the second direct attack from Iran coming after its retaliation for Israel’s targeted killings of leaders in groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas. Missiles have left grave damage on an Israeli air base and have killed one person in the West Bank.
Accordingly, Israeli officials, such as President Isaac Herzog, have reaffirmed that Iran threatens Israel. Because Israel has not made its proposed counterattack plan public, the Israeli press and military analysts assume it will try to knockout Iran. The international world, like the U.S., is sounding a call for de-escalation, and the Iranian regime has warned an attack from the Israelis will be met with a stronger response.
Now the struggle increases in Lebanon, where Hezbollah rockets pound thick and fast-with some slamming into the northern Israeli air base called Ramat David. The Israeli military has launched raids and airstrikes throughout southern Lebanon, with casualties mounting and cities and towns lying in ruins, particularly in known Hezbollah-controlled territories. Hezbollah also claimed to have attacked along the Acre coast. But Israeli warplanes also pounded a refugee camp in northern Lebanon, killing a Hamas fighter and his family.
But as the situation worsens, both Israel and Iran enter the danger zone of a broader regional conflict where the decision Israel makes on how to retaliate decides everything .
