Beijing: The number of casualties has reached 11 people with 14 others still missing after days of relentless heavy rain in Liaoning Province, China’s northeastern province, according to a state broadcaster CCTV report yesterday.
Official Response to Liaoning Flood Disaster
An emergency press conference was held on August 23 in Huludao City to update the status regarding the Liaoning flood disaster. The storm has wreaked havoc across the region, mainly in Jianchang County and Suizhong County. Basic infrastructure in the form of roads, electricity, and communication networks was severely affected; besides that, houses and crops were destroyed.

Authorities have so far confirmed 11 deaths in the Liaoning flood disaster and 14 persons missing. Among the causalities is an official who lost his life in rescue operations.
Search and Rescue Operations Amid Liaoning Flood Disaster
Massive rescue and search efforts have been launched by the authorities for those missing in liaison with the Liaoning flood disaster. According to state media on Thursday, over 50,000 residents are said to have been evacuated from Huludao City amidst the incessant heavy rain that aggravated the situation.
