An unmanned aerial vehicle reportedly targeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private home in Caesarea, but he and his wife were not in the house when it happened. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that three drones had entered Israeli airspace from Lebanon, one of which struck a building in Caesarea. Though the government has not said if the building hit was part of Netanyahu’s residence, no injuries have been reported yet.
This attack comes at a time of rising escalation, with Hezbollah firing several rockets and drones into Israel. According to the IDF, more than 55 rockets have been fired from Lebanon so far, and Israeli forces continue to respond with retaliatory strikes upon Hezbollah affiliated sites in Lebanon. Significantly, a strike by an Israeli responded with two civilian deaths in the Christian majority town of Jounieh when a car was hit along a major highway
This escalation is part of a much wider struggle Hezbollah has been involved in, with the Israelis conducting military action to neuter threats coming from southern Lebanon.
