Stabbing and Arrest Key Carnival Features
A weekend of violence marred the Notting Hill Carnival weekend, one of the world’s biggest street festival events. Eight individuals were stabbed in the three-day festival, with five of the stabbings occurring on its final day. Concerning the festival, which brought hundreds of thousands to West London, Metropolitan Police officers additionally made more than 230 arrests on Monday, with 49 for possession of an offensive weapon.
Critical Injuries and Police Response
Three of the stabbed victims were wounded quite critically. Three firearms were collected upon the police operation, which involved 7,000 officers, and it resulted in 35 officers sustaining injuries.
