Sunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood actor Govinda, has shared candid insights into their 37-year marriage. Speaking about their early days together, Sunita revealed that she had a tomboyish appearance. She used to wear shorts and skirts and her hair was always short. Govinda would tell Sunita in jest, as he always joked, she was the look of a “boy.” The lady further explained that initially Govinda had this very conservative point of view whereby he wished she were always clad in sarees. That also wasn’t exactly appreciated by Sunita.
Earlier, Sunita said it was she who took the initiative in their relationship. As she said, “Govinda used to be even scared to touch women”. She said Govinda was too shy to show his feelings. However, this reticence didn’t deter their love life, and Sunita recalls that it was she who took the initiative in their affairs.
Residence and Personal Life:
Their accommodation is another subject of discussion. Sunita mentioned that they usually stay in different houses. Sunita lives in an apartment with their children, while Govinda stays in a bungalow just next to the apartment. According to Sunita, Govinda would go out late at night after attending meetings as he would discuss a lot with friends. She added that she wants more quiet time with her children, contrasting the living condition.
Govinda does not often do romantic things
Regarding the romantic nature of Govinda, Sunita jokingly says that Govinda is not really a romantic hero in life. She reveals that even though Govinda was such a good-looking hero, with whom everybody falls in love in the cinema hall, in reality, Govinda does not go on honeymooning or having a romantic escapade with her. Sunita even went on to add that in the next life also, she does not want him as her husband. She also wished that they could enjoy simple romantic experiences, such as eating street food together, which they haven’t done in years.
Security Issues and Change of Time
Sunita also spoke about how her sense of security in their marriage has changed over time. She said that she used to feel secure when Govinda was working with actresses like Raveena Tandon and Karishma Kapoor, but now, she feels more cautious. She jokingly said that even people lose senses after a certain age. Talking about Govinda’s age, she humorously said, “After 60, people even lose their senses” or in other words, she is now much more alert towards the changes that come with time.
Despite the ups and downs, Sunita admitted that their relationship was strong. She jokingly said that after 37 years of marriage, where could Govinda go? Their marriage has had its share of ups and downs, but Sunita’s candid reflections reveal the importance of personal space, trust, and understanding in maintaining their long-lasting bond.
