Washington – Pop megastar Taylor Swift spoke for the first time on Wednesday about the recent cancellation of three Vienna concerts, which were called off because of an alleged suicide attack plot. Swift, on Wednesday took to social media, saying, “I am filled with so much fear and guilt for not being able to be there.”.
shows were axed at the last minute after authorities reportedly warned about a possible terror plot linked to sympathizers of the Islamic State group.
The message from Taylor Swift comes after Austrian police arrested three suspects due to a threat of an attack. The primary suspect, according to the head of Austria’s domestic intelligence agency, the DSN, Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, was a 19-year-old Austrian of North Macedonian origin. He had already confessed, saying he has planned an attack with explosives and knives.
Taylor Swift’s post went on to include thanks to law enforcement for preventing what could have been a tragic event.
The completely sold-out European leg of Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour began in Paris back in May and made its way to Sweden, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Poland. The tour closed out on Tuesday with five shows at London’s Wembley Stadium.
