Turkey Taken Strong Steps on Israel’s Action of Palestine. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the action of Israel at Palestine concerning the humanitarian crisis of Gaza remains to be seen until now. The country has suspended all trade with Israel over a month ago, citing humanitarian impacts as the military actions of Israel have caused death of more than 43,000 Palestinians since last October.
Erdogan said that as long as shipments of arms continue pouring into Israel, the aggressiveness of the Israeli government will continue, and things will worsen in Palestine and Lebanon. The Turkish prime minister pointed out one of the steps in dealing with Israel’s actions-that is to consider Palestine a state-and indicated the necessity of a two-state solution for regional peace and stability.
In addition to trade restrictions and sanctions, Turkey has also been working vigorously behind the diplomatic lines to globally isolate Israel. Its moves in the UN, which seeks to halt arms supplies into Israel, have been supported by 52 countries and two International Organizations.
Turkey’s Diplomacy and Humanitarian Efforts
On the recent visits to Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan, Erdogan held bilateral talks during which he stressed the role Turkey played in resisting Israeli actions while providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine. In this regard, he mentioned support garnered for Turkey’s actions at the UN to result in curbing weapons supplies to Israel.
Erdogan also reiterated that the international world recognized the steps of Turkey because it had imposed sanctions and offered humanitarian assistance to mark a halt to the war.
Turkey’s Climate Change Initiatives
He spoke about the global climatic crisis, referring to climate change as a major problem for the world. Turkey has committed to zero emissions by 2053 and continues on efforts to enhance resource efficiency and contribute toward global efforts. He reiterated that international cooperation is needed on climate change by saying that the problem cannot be solved when only a few nations work and others just ignore sensible environmental measures.
Due to the recognition of the program, the Zero Waste initiative, initiated by Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdogan in 2017, has widely spread as a national movement in the context of reducing wastes to solve climate change.
Turkey-US Relations and the Prospect of Collaboration Under Trump
Mr Erdogan said that he is hopeful that Turkish-US relations are due to be rewritten with the Trump administration coming on board. Therefore, Erdogan told that there are ample cooperation scopes between the two nations sectors of which energy, infrastructure, and technology he added.
Erdogan also admitted that Turkey’s strategic positioning, effectively making the country the entry point of the Middle East and Europe, coupled with a young population, makes it a wonderful partner to the US – huge potential investment zone as well.
He emphasized further how innovation and related technological advancements in Turkey had been on the world’s radar and have opportunities for cooperation with leaders like Elon Musk in the future.
Turkey-Syria Relations and Security Concerns
Mr Erdogan spoke on the need for normalization between Turkey and Syria, where he affirmed the commitment of Turkey to the full achievement of peace in the region, saying that Turkey is prepared to make cross-border operations in Syria if security threats arise. Erdogan stated that Turkey has long targeted terror groups in northern Syria, like the PKK and its Syrian offshoot, YPG, which remain a threat of insecurity to Turkey’s borders.
Erdogan elaborated that the instability in Syria includes the threat of Israel’s closeness to borders of Syria, that that is also against Turkey but they respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and committed to fighting terrorism; therefore, it is upon the Syrian government to take necessary steps regarding the issue of stability in the region.
Turkey, in other words, continues to be one of the main players in Middle Eastern geopolitics, balancing the gongs of foreign policy ambitions with humanitarian pursuits, climate change, and security anxieties. The mighty rhetoric of Erdogan against Israel, efforts to get world-wide support for Palestine, and the diversity of diplomatic interactions all say much about the influence and realization of Turkey in regional as well as global matters.
