Delhi Police to arrange vehicular movement and control public traffic on New Year’s Eve. Specific arrangements for Connaught Place, India Gate, and Hauz Khas places have been made in case of large influx of tourists.
Traffic Restriction System in Main Areas
Connaught Place:
From 8 PM onwards on December 31, no vehicle would be allowed to enter the inner, middle, or outer circles unless it has a valid pass. Traffic diversion will be made at multiple entry points such as Mandi House and Bengali Market.
India Gate: Due to the heavy presence of pedestrians, traffic movement will be restricted around Rajpath, C-Hexagon, and nearby roads. Commuters are advised to avoid the area and use public transport.

Patel Chowk (Rakab Ganj Road behind AIR)
Mandi House (Copernicus Marg to Baroda House)
Minto Road (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg)
Parking is on first come, first served basis. Unauthorized parked vehicles will be towed, and offenders will be liable for penalties.
Traffic Police Deployment
Strength: 2,500 traffic police will be deployed in every nook and corner of the city, mainly around high-traffic areas like Connaught Place and Hauz Khas.
Special Teams: 250 teams shall monitor drunken driving and rash driving incidents.
Strict Observance: Over speeding, stunt biking and zig-zag driving etc. shall strictly be dealt with. Breathing analyzer equipped checkposts shall operate throughout the city.
Public Transport Advisory
Metro Services:
Exit shall not be allowed from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station after 9 PM to avoid overcrowding.
Entry shall remain open till the last train departures.
Metro services will remain normal on all other lines.
Passengers are requested to make their travel plan and use metro services wherever possible to avoid traffic congestion.

Rani Jhansi Road
Bhairon Road and Mathura Road between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Pragati Maidan will be quite busy and to be avoided.
