In a tweetstorm, Tesla and SpaceX Chief Executive Elon Musk on Monday accused Google’s Sundar Pichai-led search giant of interfering in the US Presidential election. He warned that if these allegations hold true, then the search giant will face tremendous trouble.

Musk’s Accusations

Musk then asked whether Google had instituted a search ban on Trump, suggesting the possibility of election interference.

Statement by Musk

“Wow, Google has a search ban on President Donald Trump! Election interference?” Musk asked, further saying that if Google was indeed interfering in the election process, that will come with some serious repercussions.

Public Reactions

An X user posted, “Google is owned by Democrats, suggesting partisan bias. Another Musk follower echoed, “Elon, I’m sure they’ll say you are ‘censoring’ the Democrats, but my algorithm gives me both parties speaking their thoughts and opinions. The old management, on the other hand, throttled or banned anyone that disagreed with the left.” Yet, other users scolded Musk: “You have a search ban on so many accounts you don’t like. What’s the difference?

Presidential Race At Present

Meanwhile, the presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump remains so very tight. A new media poll shows a surge in support for Harris among nonwhite voters and growing Democratic enthusiasm for her campaign. A Wall Street Journal poll puts Trump at 49 percent compared to Harris’s 47 percent. Elon Musk’s allegations against Google launched a debate on possible one-sidedness in all tech platforms, especially with regard to democratic processes. With the presidential race getting tighter, these are other accusations to add in the ongoing political discourse.
