Qatari, Egyptian and US leaders urged Israel and Palestinian group Hamas to resume negotiations as soon as possible on the same date, according to the statement posted. As the talks on the proposed Gaza ceasefire deal resumed, the negotiators made a joint call on everyone to leave no room for the remaining gaps and press ahead without loss of time in implementing the agreement.
This provides a new momentum for international activity toward ultimately achieving an end to the war and restoring calm to the region.
