Washington, D.C.: As the country has only three months to go before the US Presidential election, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris has taken a significant lead over Republican candidate Donald Trump in three critical swing states, including Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

In three states, Harris holds an advantage of four points-50 percent to Trump’s 46 percent-according to a New York Times/Siena College survey taken from August 5 to August 9, with a total sample size of 1973 registered voters.

This lead comes in the same week that Kamala Harris named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, further solidifying her campaign. The polls revealed a margin of sampling error at plus or minus 4.8 percentage points in Michigan, 4.2 points in Pennsylvania, and 4.3 points in Wisconsin.

That now compares to a previous set of polls showing Donald Trump tied or higher than the former Democratic contender Joe Biden. Harris’s rise in these critical battleground states comes on the heels of her endorsement by President Joe Biden, who stepped aside amid concerns over his cognitive well-being and ability to govern.

Compared to last month, Harris’s favorable ratings have risen considerably-10 points, for example, in Pennsylvania. Independent voters are rating her as smarter and more temperamentally qualified to lead the country in increasing numbers.

With the election on November 5 closing in, Harris is firing up Democrats, who feel more optimistic than they have in weeks, after President Biden decided to endorse her candidacy. Yet three months from now, much can still change in this tightly contested race.
