LONDON – In the stirring article, Princess of Wales Kate Middleton made public in March that she was diagnosed with cancer. An explosive new biography on the royals has been published by author Rob Jobson, which includes a shocking medical incident concerning the princess during her teenage years. A report from The Independent describes a book, Catherine the Princess of Wales, written about the emergency surgery Kate had as a student at Marlborough College to remove a lump from her head.

Emergency Surgery as a Teenager

According to Jobson, Kate’s mother immediately took her to hospital where doctors removed the lump. “The school called her parents straight away, and her mother Carole took her to the hospital, where she had surgery to remove it,” he wrote.

This operation, which left a three-inch scar, was firstly noticed by the public when Kate carried out her first solo engagement over two decades ago. Buckingham Palace later issued a brief statement confirming this, “The scar is related to a childhood operation.”

Current Health Update and Public Support

In June, the Princess of Wales gave an update on her health, saying she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy and making good progress, although she was “not out of the woods.” In a personal message, she expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support she received following her announcement.
